The EHIC supercedes the former E111 form. Form EHIC is no substitute for travel insurance but if you are traveling to a European country, you can take along a Form EHIC which will entitle you to free or discounted emergency medical care.

You can pick up a Form EHIC from a Post Office and remember that children in your party will now need their own form.

To acquire an EHIC, you will need to quote your National Insurance or NHS number.
